Your role:

Your passion is to help CANPACK in Helmond make sure that every employee returns home from work healthy and safe. You carry out risk assessments, advise about possible improvements to the production and working methods, and support management when investments are needed for HSE improvements.

You take proactive and reactive actions to ensure CPNL is compliant with relevant legislation and corporate and CPNL requirements. You liaise with managers to achieve this. Equally important, you make sure that everyone is informed about the Health and Safety standards in our organization, and you support management in achieving adherence to these standards. This is supported by the appropriate training you provide.

Overall, you play an active role in developing a strong HSE culture at CPNL.

As HSE officer you will be responsible for:

• Advise about possible improvements to the production and working methods, including the use of the plant, machinery, tools and the use of hazardous substances, the organization of the workplace, environment.
• Liaise with managers, to ensure that all activities of employees and contractors are meeting all legislative requirements.
• Check at an early stage to make sure that any proposed new purchases and projects satisfy HSE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with global standards and company-wide HSE initiatives such as ISO 14001, 45001, etc .
• Analyze work situations based on Risk Assessment & Evaluations (RI&E) and monitor that the action plan is being executed and that actions are carried out.
• Make sure that everyone within the organization is in possession of the health and safety information and training necessary for their jobs, and pay special attention to newcomers (internal and external).

For this position you have the following knowledge and skills:

• Educated to HBO level or equivalent by experience in a HSE relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of HSE legal requirements.
• Manufacturing exposure / experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good knowledge of the English language in speaking and writing.
• Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001), Environmental Discharges, Incident registration systems, Incident Investigation, HSE auditing techniques.
• Strong passion for HSE.
• Skills in MS office, particularly in Excel, Word and Power point.
• Able to work independently and meticulously.
